About Stowe Gardens

Stowe Gardens is 250 acres of landscaped gardens just waiting to be explored.

There is an additional 750 acres of parkland (designed by Capability Brown himself) for you to spread your wings and work up an appetite!

In the gardens you will find trees, monuments, temples, shrubs, Stowe Church, winding paths and lakeside walks.

Many of the superb Instagram ready views are revealed at the last minute – all part of the design. But to be honest you will not struggle for good views!

The Grecian valley is a particularly nice circular walk.

As well as the gardens there is a shop with a plant store attached, a cafe, coffee shop and a bookstore!

Dogs on leads are welcomed all of the year everywhere part from the cafe which is assistance dogs only.

“These landscaped gardens are extensive so you can easily escape the crowds in the grounds.

We spent 2.5 hours there wandering around and the several sculptures in carefully chosen locations are an unexpected joy.

Many great views around especially at the church across 3 counties!”

“The grounds of Stowe are extensive and make a lovely place to walk, in our case with a dog, but equally without.

There are so many follies and structures of interest as you walk round, as well as plenty of wildlife.

The cafe/shop part way round is dog friendly, but also has outdoor seating if you prefer.“
