About The Garden of Cosmic Speculation
Set in 30 acres of the Dumfries countryside and created by Charles Jencks and his wife Maggie The Garden of Cosmic Speculation is a wonderfully abstract affair based on mathematical formulae and scientific phenomena.
Only open one day a year to support the excellent charity Maggie’s Centres, named after Charles late wife.
Charles himself passed away in 2019.
Light in planting but high in drama there are 40 areas including bridges, sculptures, terraces and fencing to see.
There are plenty of benches around so take a picnic!
Tickets are limited so if you want to visit keep an eye on the website to see when they are available.
