Yewbarrow House Gardens is a stunning five-acre private garden in Grange-over-Sands, lovingly created by Jonathan and Margaret Denby over the past 25 years. Set in a sheltered location with spectacular views across Morecambe Bay, the gardens feature an impressive collection of exotic plants alongside beautifully themed areas including Japanese, Italian, Sensory, Sculpture, Rock, Fern and Kitchen Gardens.
Visitors can also admire the Infinity Pool, Victorian Glasshouse, Japanese Tea House, limestone carvings, mosaics and stained glass, while spotting abundant wildlife including deer, frogs and 57 recorded bird species.
Guided tours last around an hour, although many visitors stay longer to explore the extensive grounds. Visitors should take care on steep paths and around bee hives and spiky tropical plants.

About Yewbarrow House Gardens
Yewbarrow House Gardens is a five acre garden, half of which is woodlands, created by Jonathan & Margaret Denby over the last 25 years.
The garden has superb views over Morecombe Bay and its sheltered position allows many exotic plants to be grown and thrive.
There are many outstanding features and areas for you to explore.
From the Japanese Garden, Italian Terrace, Sunken Garden, Sensory Garden, Sculpture Garden, Yucca Garden, Rock Garden, Fern Garden to the Kitchen Garden, Orangery and Maple Walk.
There are also a number of impressive structures like the Infinity Pool, Japanese Tea House, Victorian Glasshouse,Victorian Aviary Arbour, Apiary and Bridge.
There is plentiful wildlife from frogs and deer to 57 recorded types of bird! Get spotting!
And do keep any eye open for all the limestone carvings dotted around the gardens by Alan Ward as well as the trompe l’oeil, mosaics and stained glass windows.
If you take a guided tour it lasts about an hour but there is an awful lot to see so you will probably linger around afterwards.
There are some potential hazards to be aware of including bees, spikes of the Agaves and other tropical plants and slippery slopes.
