Dunster Castle Manor Gardens are located in a spectacular setting (ideal for photos) with the castle offsetting the subtropical gardens, watermill, play area and parklands.
There is also an unusual Victorian reservoir which is still used to supply the castle and gardens.
The gardens are a terraced home to Mediterranean and subtropical plants, with a riverside wooded garden and bowling green.
For those who like to combine a bit of shopping and eating this too is possible making for an ideal day out for all the family.

Shop & Cafe
You are a bit spoilt for choice when it comes to eating at Dunster Castle.
There is the The Watermill Tearoom, The Tearoom, a pop up cafe and a picnic area and at the weekend and bank holiday the Camellia House opens to serve teas, coffees and ice creams..
Menus are likely to change and as a lot of the food is prepared on site ask if you have concerns about allergies.
The Stables Shop supports local business and you can buy gifts and the Gatehouse Books at the top of the Stables Shop sells second hand books. If you have any good condition books you would like to donate just bring them along.

The gardens are accessible but there are steep routes with steps and uneven surfaces.

Dunster Castle Gardens are rated ‘2 paw prints’ by the National Trust which means water bowls, dog bins and dog friendly walks.
You may have to sit outside with your doggy chum while eating though!
