About Penjerrick Garden
Penjerrick Garden is a super 200 year old; 15 acre sub-tropical garden.
Created by the Fox family who were also responsible for the gardens at Trebah.
Best seen in Spring but there is still plenty to see throughout the open season.
Expect to get some lovely coastal views and in the upper garden there are rhododendrons, camellias, magnolias, azaleas, tree ferns and bamboos.
The lower garden is more jungle like with very large and impressive ferns and four ponds which is accessed via a wooden bridge; which may be broken but you can get access anyway!
This garden is at its best in April and May.
There are no toilets or refreshments but the hotel opposite the main entrance has these facilities.
The garden is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs in the lower part of the garden – be warned it can get tricky underfoot if it rains!

Visitor Reviews of Penjerrick Garden
Google Visitor Review Score 4.3 stars
Don’t take our word for how genuinely super these gardens are. Here is what visitors to Penjerrick Garden had to say:
Editors note: Do not expect manicured perfection but do expect to be enchanted!
“What a place! This is the true lost garden in Cornwall, not the over commercialised Heligan. Tree ferns are amazing, never seen such large ones.”
“A most magical, unspoilt, wild garden. Wear boots, take walking poles if, like me, you’re a wobbler. It’s muddy and slippy in parts.”
“A mesmerising garden. If you are fascinated with the jungle then it’s not to be missed.”
