Rainham Hall
Georgian History Meets Community Garden!
Located in Rainham, East London, just two minutes’ walk from Rainham Station, Rainham Hall combines Georgian history with a delightful three-acre community garden. Built in 1729, the house explores stories from more than 50 residents, while the garden offers orchards, kitchen plots, woodland, wildlife and natural play. A café, bookshop and family activities complete the visit.

Visitor Information for Rainham Hall
Rainham Hall is located just a 2 minute walk from Rainham Station and is a Georgian House built in 1729 for Captain John Harle.
The Hall is available to tour and is a compilation of the over 50 residents who have lived there over the years rather than having one style belonging to a set era. A number of exhibitions are open and on display.
And to keep the children’s interest there is the Rainham Hall Tag Trail Challenge displayed over three floors.
The 3 acre community garden is split into 4 areas from the hall borders, orchard and kitchen garden, the meandering borders and the woodland.
Keep an eye open for produce from the kitchen garden to buy.
Urban wildlife is there to see – look out for the long logs housing bugs and the Rainham Hall Insect Mansion!
For the kids there is a natural play area with mud kitchen, bug hotels and woodland. Possibly an idea to come prepared!
Refreshments are available at the Stables Café serving excellent coffee and hot and cold food.
You will find a super little bookshop selling second hand books for adults and children.
