About the Ardchattan Priory Gardens

While there has been a garden at Ardchattan Priory for over 700 years, started by the Valliscaulian monks, it is in the last 100 years or so that it has been fully developed.

You can expect to see herbaceous borders, roses, rockery,a wildflower garden and ornamental trees.

Through the season plants to se, and smell, include  Azaleas and Rhododendrons, Embothrium, Crinodendron, Philadelphus, Hydrangeas and berries.

And of course you get fantastic views over Loch Awe!

The ruins of the Priory are still visible as are the Monk’s Chapel.

There are no catering facilities or plant sales but groups who book can hire out the hall.

Parking is by the entrance to the gardens.

The paths are suitable for wheelchairs, although they can become soft in very wet weather.
