About Quebec House
Quebec House was the childhood home of General James Wolfe and is located to the South East on the outskirts of Westerham.
Discover all about life in the 1730’s hen the family rented the house and find out the real history of the Battle of Quebec in 1759 when sadly General Wolfe lost his life.
You can pre book guided tours of the house here.
The garden is a pretty typical 18th-Century style and stocked with flowers and plants from the Georgian era.
Expect to see tulips, alliums, roses and geraniums among many of the plants flowering throughout the year.
The kitchen garden and herb border use planting as seen in Mrs Wolfe’s recipe book.
Keep an eye open for the Bee Boles which were used for honey production. I think they stuffed the holes with straw but could be wrong!
You will find a second hand bookshop in the Coach House where there is also and exhibition on The Story of the Westerham Foundlings.
And there are often events like the Christmas at Quebec House.
