As you walk through the grounds you can admire the landscape he created along with sea views, a temple and two World War Two pillboxes!
The wild garden is a must visit with its nationally important rhododendrons and towering Scots pines.
And some garden it is covering 50 acres with some of the biggest Scots pines outside of Scotland and Oak, Beech and Japanese Maple trees all visible.
Look out for the newly planted Red Maple, Colorado Blue Spruce, Japanese Cedar and Tibetan Cherry which are part of the response to climate change and hotter and drier summers.
The woodlands offer glimpses of wildlife with three species of deer as well as skylarks, woodpeckers and possibly adders.

You will find a good second hand bookshop in the barn and the The Courtyard Café serves hot and cold drinks, sandwichs and delicious cakes!
