West Sussex’s Knepp Estate spans 3,500 acres of former farmland transformed through rewilding. Visitors can explore the rewilded walled garden, join wildlife safaris, follow miles of paths and discover food grown on the estate. Deer, Exmoor ponies, Tamworth pigs and white storks add wildlife interest, while camping and glamping offer longer stays and seasonal events provide extra reasons to visit.

My top tip: Check which entrance you are to use on any booked tickets – there are quite a few!

Visitor Information for Knepp Estate

Knepp Estate is an 3,500 acre ex farm that is now a leading example of rewilding in the UK.

Located just 16 miles from Gatwick Airport the rewilding has been developed over the last 20 or so years by owner Charlie Burrell.

A visit to the estate offers you the opportunity to experience a safari around the grounds, take a tour of the Rewilded Walled Garden, enjoy food at the Restaurant with food grown in the Market Garden and you can also find locally sourced gifts, products and food in the Shop.

Each year there are many events and workshops for you to get involved with from Friday night barbeques, Market Garden tours, Safaris including Nightingale and Dawn events, Art Exhibitions, Talks and Rewilding Workshops.

For the kids there is endless space to explore with 16 miles of pathways to follow and bird hides and platforms to find and use to spot the coal wildlife including Deer, Exmoor ponies, Tamworth pigs and White Storks.

For those wishing to spend a longer time on the etsate there are a number of accommodation options from Camping, Glamping, Shepherd Huts , Yurts and Cabins at the Bothy, Stables and The Dairy for a bit more luxury!
