Visitor Information for Sussex Butterfly Gardens
Sussex Butterfly Gardens, this version, not the one in Brighton, is located in Middleton Common Farm, about 2.5 miles East of Burgess Hill.
Describing itself as a ‘vibrant tropical paradise’ you will enter a hot and humid environment created in order to not only sustain the butterflies but also the tropical plants needed to help the butterflies breed and survive.
There is 3,000 square feet of the flight area to discover the many varieties, chapes, colours and sizes of butterflies.
It’s worth booking up the ‘minibeast experience’ if it is running – check their Facebook page for timings and costs.
You will be given a sheet detailing all the butterflies to help you identify them – if you can!
And at weekends and during school holidays watch out for the ‘Bug Hug’ with interactives butterfly themed arts and crafts.
Refreshments are provided on site in the Cafe offering drinks and snacks and also a small train!
